It’s a Party!

Burnaby Village Museum hosts Burnaby’s Official Canada Day celebrations offering visitors the backdrop of its 1920s village streets, multi-cultural family entertainment including musicians, entertainers, displays & demonstrations. Admission is free. (Carousel rides are $2.65)

Be sure to bring your camera and pose for a picture with our 1920s roving characters or with members of the Burnaby RCMP detachment, in their splendid red serge uniforms.

All Day Fun

Across the Pacific 
Chinese Canadians have called Burnaby home since the late 1800s. Across the Pacific features stories, photographs, and artifacts illustrating the history and legacy of Chinese migration to Burnaby from the 1880s to 1970s. Experience the stories of Burnaby’s Chinese-Canadian families in English, Chinese and Cantonese village dialect.

Working People: A History of Labour in British Columbia
A series of short films about workers and labour history in BC.

Way Sang Yuen Wat Kee
Step inside a traditional Chinese herbal medicine shop from the early 1900s to learn more about BC’s early Chinese-Canadian communities. Discover the sights, smells, and sounds of what an active herbal medicine shop would have felt like.

Wagner’s Blacksmith Shop
Come visit the renovated blacksmithing shop, now with an expanded viewing area.
