Event Details

ArtStarts Explores is a hands-on drop-in workshop series for creative and adventurous families held from 11am to 12pm every Saturday (except the last Saturday of each month, when we present ArtStarts on Saturdays events).

Explore creativity with your family through hands-on investigations and discover a wide variety of materials and artistic mediums. These process-based explorations invite families to experiment together through observing, touching, drawing, moving, assembling and listening to ignite their creative learning.

Collage
Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11am to 12pm

Many people think that collage is easy, but like all art making, if you approach your process in a lazy way, your final product will certainly not look as good as it could. Join us this week as we explore what makes a bad collage, we talk about composition and we wield our scissors to make some magic!

Family
Saturday May 12, 2018, from 11 am to 12 pmA process based workshop on the theme of family? No, we’re not making families today, but we’re using them to be inspired in different ways to make our art. If you have a family, how does it affect your art making? There are all kinds of families so there are all kinds of things we can make when we think about them. Join us!

Blending
Saturday May 19, 2018, from 11 am to 12 pm
Have you ever mixed two colours together? How about mixing 2 of the same colour?! These kind of challenges and more are happening in this week’s blending workshop.
