Get in the Shot to Win With Our Instagram Challenge
Many moms find that they have lots of photos of their children, their partners, and even their family pets, but almost none of themselves. All too often, we’re the ones behind the camera, not in front of it. Maybe no one thinks of snapping a photo of you. Maybe you don’t like the way you look in pictures. Or maybe the only shots you have are taken by a small child, featuring a close-up of your midsection. Whatever the reason, we’re encouraging you to change that. 20, 30 or 40 years from now, you’ll wish you had some great photos of you with your children. That’s why we’re teaming up with Jenn Di Spirito Photography for a new Instagram challenge.
Instagram Challenge
For the next few months, we’re inviting you to post photos of yourself with your kids to Instagram, and tag them with #mamaintheshot. Every two weeks, we’ll be sharing a new theme to inspire you. At the end of the two weeks, we’ll choose one winner. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate from Jenn Di Spirito Photography. After three months, at the end of the Instagram challenge, a winner will be randomly selected to receive a free photo session.
How to Participate
Here’s how to participate in the Instagram challenge:

- Follow vancouver_mom and jenndispirito on Instagram.
- Every other Friday, look for an update from both of us filling you in on the new theme.
- Snap as many photos with you and your kids as you like, keeping the theme in mind. Tag them with #mamaintheshot.
Note: you must live in, or be able to travel to, the Vancouver area in order to claim your prize.
The Little Moments
The small moments in life are so important. After all, most of your time with your kids is spent doing ordinary things. Things like taking a walk, cooking and eating, reading and bathing. We hope that this challenge will encourage you to take more photos of these little moments with your children. These really are the times that you’ll look back on fondly in the years and decades ahead. Seize the moment, and capture them!
