The Cinematheque is a non-profit film society and cultural centre dedicated to the celebration and understanding of film and moving images.
As well a a rich program of essential cinema presented on the big screen throughout the week, The Cinematheque also offers a range of unique educational experiences for kids of all ages!
The Indie Filmmakers Lab is a two-week filmmaking program for aspiring independent filmmakers, ages 14-19, presented by The Cinematheque and SFU School for the Contemporary Arts. This summer, our two Indie Lab two programs will take place July 9 - 20 and July 23 - August 3. Apply online now!
At 11am on the third Sunday of every month The Cinematheque invites you to join them for Film Club, a matinée film program for children and their families! Discounted admission ($6 - Ages 13 & Under | $10 - Everybody Else) as well as free popcorn and a special Film Club badge for kids aged 13 and under. This could be your new favourite Birthday Party outing, or just a fun Sunday morning activity for the family.
For over 20 years, The Cinematheque has offered film and media education programs and resources for youth, teachers and other community members.
