Y camps are perfect all-rounders that any kid will enjoy. Featuring a wide range of exciting, friendly activities, these camps are perfect for the kid who likes lots of variety and socialization (even shy kids will have fun). Campers from 5‐12 participate in out‐trips, outdoor activities, sports, games, arts and crafts and get the recommended 90 minutes of daily physical activity. Full day camps geared to the K to 7 set include “Experimenting with Music (Grades K-3)” and “Music of Different Cultures (4-7), while kids 3-5 can enroll in a half-day “Arts Explorer” camp and there are even classes for the super littles 1-2 and 0-1 year-olds!

Want your child to drop the training wheels or learn more advanced bike skills? Pedalheads camps for kids aged 2 to 12 teach everything from getting the little ones going on their balance bikes, to taking off training wheels and teaching kids to ride independently, to how to ride safely with confidence. Kids get lots of time on their bikes learning and playing games, navigating obstacle courses, and challenging themselves with a variety of activities in a safe environment. If you have an adventurous, outdoorsy child who likes a challenge, there are also Mountain Bike camps where kids learn to ride on various surfaces; control and steering; riding in a group; and riding up and down hills.

Have a serious gamer in the house? They’ll be thrilled to head to Minecraft camp! MCKids Academy has four Minecraft camps at Creekside Recreation Centre for the 8-13 year-old set: Learning Through Minecraft: Save the World!; Programming & Game Design with Minecraft (JAVA); Minecraft Creators in Training: Building Bedrock Add-ons and Minecraft Modpack Creators: Legacy Mythopoeia. Kids learn about play etiquette, game design, map-making, mods, coding and programming. Sessions have tie-ins with social studies and involve honing critical thinking skills. For parents concerned that their kids will be inside on a screen all day, camps include half a day of outdoor activity.
