2017 Vancouver Mom Top 30 Bloggers: 7-12

The nominations are in! Thanks to everyone who nominated their favourite Vancouver mom blog for our 8th annual Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers contest. You came through with dozens of nominations, telling us about some new and interesting Metro Vancouver mom bloggers to fete at our annual gala (and online). We visited the blogs, reviewed them, and narrowed with great difficulty our list down to just 30. We’re showcasing moms who care, create, bake, take killer Instagrams, sell products, write and share it all with us through their blogs and social feeds. This week we’re presenting the talented 2017 Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers, in no particular order. Today we share our second group of six.

Heydy Lopez is a Vancouver-based mom & lifestyle blogger. She is the creator of Raising Jay & Abel, a blog where she shares her real life Teen & Young Mom Story. Juggling between her full-time career as a Legal Assistant, her blog and her two children (soon to be three) you can sure to laugh, love and shed tears with her.

Amanda Breen of The Urban Mom

Amanda is an honest and fun #momlife and style blogger living in Vancouver. She loves spending time with her husband Chris, their new baby, Mikayla and their lazy but happy English Bulldog, Zoey. They enjoy visiting their family in Steveston, hanging out with friends and exploring our wild coast. Amanda loves cold beers at a Country concert and listening to music loud on a sunny Sunday morning. But one of her most favourite things is hosting their fun and crazy group of friends and family at their place for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Olivia Lasting, This West Coast Mommy

Olivia is a social worker, advocate, wife, mother, and the blogger behind This West Coast Mommy. When the kids came along, she temporarily put her career on hold to focus on raising kind, happy, healthy, and adventurous children. Becoming a mother to two feisty girls has been both the greatest and most challenging work of her life, as well as the inspiration for starting her blog and living life a little greener every day. When she’s not taking photographs of her kids and the beautiful natural scenery surrounding us, you can find her experimenting in the kitchen, ordering sushi rolls, or buried in a good sci fi novel.

Emelia Symington Fedy, Trying to be Good

Emelia’s purpose is to talk about the dark, in order to shed some light. She does not shy away from her own imperfections, in fact, she candidly shares them so you know you are not alone in your messy life. Creator of the uber popular blog Trying To Be Good, Emelia has branched out and is now offering creative coaching services, personal-pep-talks about how to sustainably make a living doing what you love AND her favorite- “The Anti- Mastermind group.” A virtual space where women gather to get clear on realistic goals, share group wisdom and use Emelia as as personal trainer for follow through! Emelia is a performer, social media personality, writer and rebel-heart who loves making women feel good about themselves- especially the gritty, sparkly fucked up bits.

Liz Squires of The Loud Introvert

Liz is a family life blogger from North Surrey with a passion for self-care and little adventures. She studied at Trinity Western University (theatre and writing) and MacEwan University (arts & cultural management) and currently juggles single parenting, blogging, and her day job at a marketing agency. A widow since 2012, Liz is navigating the messy life of single parenting her son and daughter while trying to keep her sense of humour along the way. Most of all, Liz believes in transparency and authenticity at all times, especially the hard parts

Leah Price of Enough Stuff – My Life with Less

Master Recycler (yes, it’s a thing!), artist and teacher – I blog about my passions: sewing, gardening, my children, a zero-waste lifestyle and making something from nothing. I help run Our Social Fabric – a Vancouver textile recycling initiative and Come to My Yard – an accessible, community-building vegetable garden in collaboration with the Vancouver Arts Colloquium. I host an art show of pieces made entirely from an on-going family waste audit, teach zero waste sewing lessons and facilitate an adapted Home Learning program for my daughter.
