Five Favourites: Mother’s Day in Vancouver

Mother’s Day is Sunday! As a mom yourself you may be familiar with the squeeze. On the one hand, you’re meant to be relaxing as your partner and children pamper you. On the other hand, you likely have a mom (or three) in your life that you’d like to honour. If you’re scrambling, we’re here to help. Today we’re sharing our five favourite suggestions for celebrating Mother’s Day in Vancouver.

Five Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day in Vancouver

Neverland Tea Salon

We love Neverland Tea Salon in Kits. Here’s what contributor Jo Ramsay had to say about it, “The quirky Peter Pan meets Alice in Wonderland décor is immediately inviting and unashamedly girly, making it the ideal place for a lunch with friends or your mum.” Sounds perfect to us. They’re also holding a special Mother’s Day High Tea, sure to fit the bill.

Beta5 Chocolates

When we ran our search for the best chocolate shop in Vancouver earlier this year, Beta5 Chocolates came out on top. This modern chocolate and pastry shop can be found in a warehouse on Industrial Avenue. Their chocolate has received national and international recognition, with innovative flavours like imperial stout, caramelized banana and Earl Grey. Indulge yourself – or your mother – for Mother’s Day.

Bella Gelateria

Ice cream is great anytime, but with the warm weather we’ve been having it’s even more perfect. If you let your kids take you out for ice cream this Mother’s Day, everyone will have a good time. Bella Gelateria won top honours in our search for the best ice cream in Vancouver, so we suggest checking them out. One of our readers had this to say about them: “It’s a little bit of heaven, whether you choose to eat it in a cone, a cup, or take it home in a to-go container. Yum!”

Brunch is the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day. Not too long ago we checked out Medina and found that it fit the bill for a perfectly leisurely weekend morning. Reviewer Katie Smith wrote, “Whether it’s in a skillet or displayed on plate, every dish shows attention to detail. The food doesn’t just look good, either – it’s exploding with flavour.”

Yoga

Yoga is the perfect combination of workout and relaxation, which is why so many Vancouver moms love it. For Mother’s Day, why not leave the kids with your partner while you stretch out the stress and strain of day-to-day life? There are countless studios to choose from, but when we ran our own search for the best yoga studio in Vancouver, Bikram Yoga Vancouver came out on top.
