A few weeks ago, we asked VancouverMom.ca readers if they used a balance bike to help train their kids on how to ride a bike. Here is what some of you said on our Facebook page:

“My son started riding a bike when he was 4. My grandkids were 5 and 6. The other day I saw a 3 year old on the balance bike. I was so amazed. I highly recommend them. They help kids with coordination.” – Iris

“The balance bikes are hugely popular and come in both wood and metal versions. Have to say we skipped them in our family as the boys went from training wheels to regular bikes at 2 and 3. Now they are 3 and 4 and are enjoying the skate board bowls without training wheels to mom’s horror! Good thing for elbow pads – need full body pads though lol! – ” Kirsten
