All babies & children need quality sleep… and lots of it! How is your little one managing? jack & lola are hosting their final two 2009 sleep sessions with Helen Sands, the leading Baby & Child Sleep Consultant in BC. Your entire family, big or small can benefit from the tools, knowledge & years of experience that Helen Sands can offer. Sign up quickly as the sessions will fill up fast. Next dates to be determined in 2010.
To register you MUST email sleep [at] jackandlola.ca. Be sure to include the age of your child. Please do not call the store directly. Space is limited to 25 people per session. Due to the popularity of these sessions, jack & lola request that only one parent attend so they can double the number of families that get the information they are looking for. Your spot will be confirmed by email and you will be contacted in advance to confirm your attendance. These sessions are FREE.
Four sessions will be held in November over 2 nights.:
SESSION #1: Monday November 16th @ 6:30 p.m. for parents with Infants 3-5 months only.
SESSION #2: Monday November 16th @ 8:00 p.m. for parents with Infants 6-8 months only.
SESSION #3: Tuesday November 17th @ 6:30 p.m. for parents with Infants 9-12 months only.
SESSION #4: Tuesday November 17th @ 8:00 p.m. for parents with Toddlers 12-18 months only
In your group session, you will be provided with information on the following:
- Teach baby how to sleep independently in his/her own crib/bedroom
- How to assist your baby in going off to sleep without using “sleep crutches” or “sleep associations”
- How to help your baby “self settle” or “self soothe” in the night
- Appropriate daytime napping & how to help baby achieve longer naps
- Establishing a healthy routine for your baby
- Teach your baby to sleep for 11 hours at night without feeding

I bought Helen Sands manual online. Her manual is helpful but the contact I had with by email was very unpleasant. Not helpful, arrogant and to be honest will not recommend her to anyone.
I would not recommend Helen Sands to anyone. My first phone conversation seems ok, and I hired her for consultation, but after the payment went through, it was hell. Very arrogant, condescending and unhelpful. Gives you a “custom” plan but when it doesn’t work, basically, it is all YOUR fault and YOU must not be following instructions properly. Not flexible and the plan is very poorly layout and written. She needs to take some courses on customer service, instructional writing, and communication skills.
