Built in 1894 in the fishing village of Steveston, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery was once the largest building of its kind and the leading producer of canned salmon in British Columbia. Today, it is a National Historic Site and home to a museum presenting the history of Canada's west coast fishing industry. Experience the stories of this place and its people through interactive exhibits, films, and guided tours. Kids can enjoy the many fun hands-on displays throughout the historic cannery, and pick up a Parks Canada “Xplorer Activity” book filled with activities that will guide your discovery of this unique site.
