Every few weeks, we’ll introduce you to a local Vancouver mom who’ll share with you some of her favourite essentials. This week: Sue Sinclair, Founder and “Chief Executive Mom” of Raspberry Kids, which sells new and unique children’s products. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and two children.

Tanya and Jeff Harrison started Veridamo Photography back in 2001 primarily shooting weddings and have since grown into one of Metro Vancouver’s top children and family portrait photography studios. Not only do they offer fun, child centered portrait sessions, but as of last year they now also use their photographic skills to raise money and awareness for two fantastic local charities, Share’s Tiny Bundles program and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Kids Picks, through the Kids of Vancouver project.

Former doula turned yoga teacher Lori Lucas believes in the motto: “Breathe and let go, and remember that nothing happens next: this is it!”

First up: Jill Earthy, the Executive Director of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and the co-founder of MomCafe. Jill lives in Vancouver with her husband and two young daughters.

Vancouver mom entrepreneur Yasuko Brander originally began developing Théra Wise bio-active natural therapeutic ointments and plant based medicinal ointments to help with her own skin conditions. Now her Théra Wise products are sold throughout Canada by major retailers as well as local health stores.

The other day, two-and-a-half-year-old daughter came down from her room, wearing a pair of fuchsia bloomers that came with one of her dresses, and announced that she was wearing “dress-up underwear”. It’s easy to see why parents and children alike will fall in love with Playpants’ modern spin on traditional bloomers. Moms Kim Mallory and Elizabeth Kowal each run their own photography studio, Kim Mallory Photography and White Album Weddings. But when they saw a need in their community for something new, fresh and convenient and ADORE pictures was born.

Headed up by Vancouver moms Tamara Komuniecki and Cynthia Merriman, Delish Magazine is a new e-magazine all about living like you mean it, set to launch this spring. Both of these women have serious skills in their areas of expertise to apply to their new venture – Tamara will take on the role of Editor in-Chief and Cynthia will head up the look and feel as Design Director.

Meet Shaheen Hirji, the mom behind online organic baby store, Organically Hatched. Shaheen launched her business in 2008 with a goal to bring moms the best selection in natural baby products. Recently nominated for the The SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Shaheen’s young venture is off to a great start.
