Vancouver-based wedding and portrait photographer Daniela Ciuffa has created a fresh and innovative style. After five years as an award winning photojournalist, Daniela made the switch to weddings and lifestyle photography. Her spirited personality is artistically displayed through her unique vision. With an unmatched thirst for exploration paired with natural creative ability she is able to capture moments that will be preserved for a lifetime.

Why did you get into photography?

I remember when my brother and I were growing up my mom would constantly stop everything and photograph us. From my knitted knee high socks to curly hair onto braces then graduation, my mom documented it all. She taught me to enjoy and capture life. It wasn’t until after university that I would understand how this influenced me to pursue my passion for photography.

Tell us a bit about your company.

I am the owner, photographer, studio manager, editor, client liaison, and killer coffee barista at my Vancouver studio – I do it all and love it all. I started out as a photojournalist and won many national accolades for my work, but I felt I was missing that one-on-one connection. I then moved to Vancouver and made the switch to wedding and lifestyle portraiture. I’m so lucky to be a part of people lives during the most important times for them, from the wedding to maternity and finally the babies. It’s such an honor for me to be able to capture my clients growing families.

How would you characterize your style of photography?

Timeless, classic and innovative. I strive to make my clients photos as unique as they are, making no two sessions alike.

Who are your clients?

Those who realize life is short and memories are precious. It’s true what they say: children grow up so fast. First they are in diapers, then they’re crawling, walking and then running through those years. I stop time for parents for just that moment and capture their children in these stages.. in an artful, passionate manner.

What should your mom clients expect when working with you?

Bring tissues and expect to cry after I present you with the images of your children.
