byDania Designs artists Dani Grassi and Tania Payne are Vancouver-based designers known for their stylish creations with fresh new ideas that appeal to all ages and can be worn for any occasion. Why did you get into jewellery design?

We met in college while both were pursuing careers as Sign Language Interpreters.  During these years a great friendship developed and we realized we shared passion for jewellery design which evolved into a successful business venture. We started by creating accessories for ourselves and gifts for friends and family.  While wearing their designs, we were frequently asked about our eye-catching pieces.  Then having explained that we were the creators of these unique and innovative styles, the demand for byDania Designs jewellery began.

Tell us a bit about your company.

We joined together in 2005 to create a distinctive design of jewellery now known as byDania Designs. This once hobby has grown into a reputable and sought-after product line, both locally and internationally. We design and manufacture each individual piece by hand to ensure the highest professional quality while their small yet supportive team assists with the technical aspects of the business. byDania Designs provides the opportunity for clients to build on their unique, interchangeable, versatile and affordable jewellery collection.

How would you characterize your style?

byDania Designs is known for its blend of stylish, striking and timeless creations. Our jewellery line allows for limitless opportunities to accessorize with interchangeable Toggle Charms, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The finest sterling silver, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, crystals, and more are used in all byDania Designs jewellery. The collection expresses a balance of organic elements, funky looks, elegant beauty and sophisticated charm. Our fresh new ideas appeal to all ages and can be worn for any occasion – from the mall to the ball!

byDania Designs is involved with supporting various communities and fundraising events for a number of charities, both locally and internationally. For example, sterling silver and freshwater pearl earrings have been created where 50% of the proceeds are donated to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure. byDania Designs also participates in fundraisers for African women and children in their local communities and are presently working on ideas to educate women in business.
